Jon Griffin has been my local Las Vegas contact since I started running the seminars there in 2010, and during this past year he changed professions from being an adjunct professor at UNLV to writing for Kindle. His presentation was titled “Your Fiction Empire Awaits“.
While most Internet marketers write and publish non-fiction works, Jon no longer considers himself to be an IM’er, and has found success writing fiction.
Jon answered questions such as why write fiction, what if you have no imagination, how to outsource some tasks if necessary, the importance of excellent covers, editors (multiple types), how to market your books in various ways including permafree, Facebook ads, advanced topics, what to do if you get the occasional and inevitable bad review, what tools he uses, and more.
He told the audience that he typically earns $160 from each $40 that he spends in Facebook advertising.
My takeaway: Jon Griffin gave a talk about Kindle fiction, and how he’s been able to profit quite nicely in the last several months. I wish I had the imagination to do the same, but even if I don’t, I can still aspire to his success through outsourcing maybe. Great information there.
