Human beings are creatures of thoughts AND emotions.
Thoughts usually take precedence over feelings, but emotions and the feelings they generate can have the ability to overpower rationality.
When this happens, how you feel is then translated outward into the world as actions.
Sometimes this can result in negative actions and consequences.
So therefore, you want to act how you want to feel, rather than the reverse, i.e. rather than allow your feelings to control your actions.
