Brenda Trott presented on the topic “How to Stay in Business (Despite Bad Luck)”.
When Brenda first pitched her idea for her talk to me, my initial reaction was that it would be something that would depress the audience, but she assured me that she was able to overcome the challenges she had been facing.
One of the mottoes that she lives by, and shared with the audience, was “Some people are born lucky, and others are lucky to be born”.
Challenges occur, and Brenda shared 3 ways to stay in business despite them. And (spoiler alert), yes, she was able to overcome the challenges of 2014 using her methods. Perhaps her advice will help you win over your inevitable future challenges as well.
My takeaway: Brenda Trott was a volunteer speaker and I squeezed her into the agenda. When she pitched her topic to me, I thought it might be too depressing of a story for us, but she promised an upbeat ending, and she nailed it. You’ll love her story about how she overcame adversity because if it hasn’t happened to you yet, it very well might.
